PENGETAHUAN TENTANG PENGELOLAAN DIRI PADA PASIEN DIABETES MELITUS TIPE 2 BESERTA FAKTOR – FAKTOR YANG BERKONTRIBUSI

Abstract


Diabetes melitus (DM) dikenal sebagai penyakit kronik yang menimbulkan banyak komplikasi. Pengetahuan merupakan kunci sukses manajemen diri dan pencegahan komplikasi terkait DM. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengidentifikasi pengetahuan pasien DM tipe 2 dalam menjalankan manajemen diri beserta faktor yang berkontribusi. Penelitian deskriptif correlational  ini melibatkan 188 DM tipe 2 yang ditentukan menggunakan teknik consecutive sampling. Kuesioner karakteristik responden, Diabetes Self-Care Knowledge Questionnaire (DSCKQ-30) digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data dalam penelitian ini. Data dianalisis dengan analisis deskriptif. Hasil penelitian ini lebih dari setengah responden pengetahuan dengan kategori rendah (55,3%) dan domain terendah berada pada domain kepatuhan manajemen diri. Pengetahuan yang rendah tersebut berhubungan dengan usia (p = 0,033, OR = 2,377, 95%CI = 2,296 – 2,459) pendidikan (p=0,001 OR = 1,856, 95%CI = 1,707 – 2,004), lama terdiagnosa DM (p= -0,034 OR = 95%CI =), riwayat edukasi (p=0,001, t = 3,071 OR = 5,820, 95%CI = 1,897 – 8,716). Pasien DM tipe 2 pada penelitian ini memiliki pengetahuan yang rendah dan cenderung dipengaruhi oleh usia, tingkat pendidikan, lama terdiagnosa DM, dan riwayat edukasi. Penting bagi pihak rumah sakit untuk meningkatkan upaya pengetahuan pasien DM tipe 2 terutama kepatuhan manajemen diri dengan memperhatikan faktor – faktor tersebut.
