MANAJEMEN DIET PADA ORANG JAWA DENGAN DIABETES TIPE 2

Abstract
Kepercayaan, budaya dan tradisi akan mempengaruhi persepsi masyarakat Jawa terkait diabetes dan cara mereka mengatur diet dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Etnografi digunakan dalam penelitian ini untuk memahami manajemen diet pada orang Jawa dengan diabetes tipe 2. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan focus group discussion, wawancara mendalam, dan observasi partisipan 34 orang Jawa penderita diabetes dan keluarganya. Melalui analisis tematik, diperoleh hasil 3 tema yang menggambarkan pengelolaan diet pada orang Jawa dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Temanya adalah: (1) Mengurangi makanan manis dengan mengurangi konsumsi gula dan kecap manis, menggunakan gula buatan, banyak minum air putih, dan minum jamu, (2) Mengurangi karbohidrat dengan makan sedikit nasi, makan nasi wadang. makan oyek, melakukan ngrowot, mengurangi konsumsi beras ketan, dan memperbanyak makan buah dan sayur, (3) Mengurangi konsumsi minyak dengan makan masakan yang direbus, digoreng dengan sedikit minyak, dan hidangan panggangan. Budaya Jawa memainkan peran penting dalam manajemen diet diabetes di kalangan orang Jawa. Pemahaman tentang budaya Jawa berguna untuk merancang model manajemen diet diabetes yang sesuai dengan budaya Jawa untuk mencapai efektivitas manajemen diabetes pada orang Jawa.
