Abstract

Malondialdehid (MDA) merupakan biomarker stres oksidatif akibat keberadaan radikal bebas dalam tubuh. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran kadar MDA urin dan asam urat pada responden perokok dan non perokok dan mengetahui perubahan kadar MDA urin dan asam urat pada responden perokok dan non perokok yang diberikan minuman antioksidan jus buah semangka (Citrullus lanatus). Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pre-post test design. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kadar MDA urin pada perokok aktif dan bukan perokok sebelum pemberian jus semangka adalah 2,666 nmol/mL dan 1,506 nmol/mL, sedangkan hasil penelitian setelah pemberian jus semangka pada hari ke-7 pada responden adalah 0,799 nmol/mL dan 0,539 nmol/mL. Sedangkan kadar asam urat awal masing-masing responden sebesar 7,5 mg/dL dan 6,6 mg/dL dan hasil penelitian setelah pemberian jus pada hari ke-7 kepada responden sebesar 6,1 mg/dL dan 5,7 mg/dL. Pada hasil analisis statistik menggunakan uji-t didapatkan nilai p<0,05 pada kadar MDA urin pada perokok dan bukan perokok, nilai p>0,05 pada kadar asam urat perokok dan nilai p<0,05 pada kadar asam urat pada bukan perokok. Jadi dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada pengaruh pemberian jus semangka terhadap kadar MDA urin masing-masing responden tetapi tidak terhadap kadar asam urat
